PictoPress is a product of Specialty Medical Response and Transportation, LLC ("SMRT," "we," "us," or "our"). Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how SMRT collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the PictoPress platform.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information: Your name and email address provided during sign-up via OAuth.
  • Content data: Book projects, pages, images, and text you create and save on PictoPress.
  • Usage data: Information about how you interact with the platform, including pages visited and features used.
  • Payment information: Billing details are processed and stored by Stripe. We only store your Stripe Customer ID and subscription status — we never see or store your full card details.
  • Uploaded images: Images you upload for use in your books are stored securely in cloud storage (Amazon S3).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the PictoPress service;
  • Process payments and manage your subscription;
  • Send important service-related communications (e.g., billing receipts, security alerts);
  • Respond to your support requests; and
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the platform.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure managed by SMRT. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Book project data and uploaded images are stored in Amazon S3 with access controls. We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.

4. Cookies and Tracking

PictoPress uses session cookies to keep you logged in. We may use analytics tools to understand how users interact with the platform. These tools may collect anonymized usage data such as page views and feature interactions.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Remove.bg — AI background removal (Premium and Education feature). Images are sent to Remove.bg's API and immediately deleted after processing.
  • Amazon S3 — cloud file storage for uploaded images and project covers.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate data;
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data; and
  • Export your book projects at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

PictoPress is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete it. For educational use involving minors, the subscribing institution is responsible for obtaining appropriate parental consent in accordance with applicable law, including COPPA and FERPA where applicable.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of PictoPress after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
